2012 County Notice of Filing
At times, you may be unable to go to your polling location and vote on election day. There is a process available to you that allows you to vote by mail or in person within the 46 days before each election. You may vote by absentee ballot if:

    • you are going to be absent from your precinct on election day
    • illness or disability prevents you from going to the polling place
    • religious discipline or observance of a religious holiday prohibits your attendance at the polling place
    • you are an election judge in another precinct

Absentee ballots will be available 46 days prior to each election.

If you are in a hospital, nursing home or other health care facility, contact the County Elections Department for further information.

If you are in the Military or residing outside the territorial limits of the United States, you may vote by absentee ballot using the address where you last lived in Minnesota. A special application form is required. Your parent, spouse, brother, sister or child at least 18 years of age may request a ballot for you.

You may vote in person at the Scott County Government Center, Elections Department, Room GC102. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We are also open the Saturday before the election from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Applications for an absentee ballot can be obtained in the form section of this webpage or one can be requested by mail from the Scott County Elections Department at 496-8560.
