DIVERSION:

Scott County will work to divert people from applying for public assistance.

Funds:
Formal diversion programs are offered. These programs help people pay for one-time expenses that if left unpaid would threaten their jobs or force them onto welfare.
Child Support:
Scott County’s Child Support Unit collects and disburses payments for families who are on public assistance and for those who are not. This unit assists in obtaining income for children and reducing the need for public assistance.
