The information provided is a general overview of the building code requirements and a guide to assist you through the permitting process, though additional items may need to be addressed and reviewed by the inspection staff at the time of plan review. The diagrams provided with the handouts are to better help you understand the requirements. Some of the diagrams can be downloaded and you will be able to insert the proper dimensions and use that information to turn in with your application.

Mechanical, plumbing, re-roof and reside applications are available on-line for you to print out and complete. Completed applications can be mailed to the address listed above with a check made out to the “Scott County Treasurer” for the amount shown at the bottom of each application. If plans need to be submitted with the permit, you must send two copies along with the application.
