If you are a Scott County resident and interested in becoming a licensed family child care provider in Scott County, the first step would be to register for orientation and then attend an orientation meeting. The first orientation meeting is a required meeting to start the licensing process as well as for you to find out if this is the right business for you. Please plan to arrive on time or at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the meeting as you will need to sign in and pick up the application packet and other handouts. (Applications are not mailed out). If you are not on time you will be asked to attend another meeting. It is important that you are present for the entire meeting. There are total of two orientations meetings required for new applicants to attend to.

Please note that orientation would be cancelled if less than five people have registered for either of the two orientations and applicants will be notified of the cancellation. Scott County Child Care Licensing Unit is responsible for licensing and monitoring family child care homes within the county.
