The mission of this unit is to make proper, expedient service of all civil process and arrest warrants.

Civil Process
Located at on the second floor of the Scott County Law Enforcement Center, at the south entrance near the 4th Ave.& Fuller St. intersection, the Sheriff’s Civil Process Unit provides the service of all legal process (papers) received from individuals, private attorneys, the court and other county agencies. Examples of civil process duties include mortgage sales, other sheriff sales, garnishments/levies, orders for protection and commitment transports. Papers are not served on Saturdays and Sundays or legal holidays.
For assistance from civil process staff, call 952-496-8320. All process is only accepted during business office hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Only exact cash or checks are accepted. At this time, the Sheriff’s Office is unable to process credit/debt cards or make change.
Mortgage Foreclosure information If you would like to obtain information regarding mortgage foreclosure sales and other Sheriff’s sales, refer to any of the newspapers published in Scott County: Belle Plaine Herald, Jordan Independent, Shakopee Valley News, Savage Pacer, and the Prior Lake American. The exception is the New Prague Times because the physical location of the newspaper office is not in Scott County.
