Background
A roundabout is planned for construction in 2013 at the CH 29/CH 46 intersection. See the Proposed Layout to view the design for this single-lane roundabout. To learn more about how to properly navigate a roundabout, view this brochure or access the resource guides listed under "Related Links" on the right side of this page.
Scott County has identified the need to redesign the intersection of CH 29/CH 46 to improve intersection operations, safety, and regional mobility. The construction of the roundabout will reduce conflicts points and significantly lessen the severity of crashes. Construction is scheduled for 2013.
A project team consisting of representatives from Scott County and engineering consultants have guided the design process. The team has gathered input from the public and local agencies throughout the design process to help identify issues and address concerns.
An open house for this project was held in May 2011, with approximately 30 people in attendance. The open house provided an opportunity for residents and interested parties to help identify issues, opportunities, and challenges to be considered during the roundabout design, and also to learn more about how a roundabout will operate in this location. See the Open House Newsletter for more information.
