  1. Education and training on planning for emergencies: Prior Lake City Hall

    October 19, 2017, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Prior Lake City Hall

    This training will help you and your childcare program prepare for disasters and emergencies. It will help you be ready to respond to emergencies while caring for children. The training will explain best practices for preparedness, help identify emergency risks, and provide resources. Each participant will receive a free bag of educational resources that can be used to engage and educate your children and parents in emergency using preparedness activities focusing on the talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing.   2. Scott County Senior Expo 2017

    October 20, 2017, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ Shakopee West Junior High

    Mark your calendars for the Scott County Senior Expo 2017! This year’s event on Friday, October 20 (from 8 AM to 1 PM) will be held at a new location: Shakopee West Junior High (200 10th Ave. E., Shakopee). Registration is now open, and will run through October 13. The $15 registration fee includes: a Continental breakfast, vendor exhibits, entertainment, lunch, and prize drawings!     With deer hunting rapidly approaching, we are once again scheduling this opportunity in 2017. The range use will be monitored by trained range safety personnel during the public shooting times. Public Rifle and Shotgun slug shooting dates and times are: Saturday, October 21, 2017 – 10:00 – 2:00 pm Sunday, October 29, 2017 – noon – 4:00 pm The fee to use the facility range is $15 for 20 minutes of shooting time.   5. Stabilize Your Shoreline Workshop

    October 24, 2017, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM @ Prior Lake City Hall

    If wave action, ice heaves and the lack of buffers along your shoreline are causing it to shrink, you can stop the destruction. Come learn how to protect and stabilize the area between your lawn and your shoreline using a native buffer. During this workshop you will also hear about financial assistance that is available to help landowners stabilize their shorelines. The workshop is free but registration is requested.
