County Road (CR) 37 was identified for turnback in the 2030 County Comprehensive Plan (2009) and reaffirmed in the 2040 Comprehensive Plan Update (2018). The roadway is functionally classed as a major collector and primarily accessed within the City of New Prague between Trunk Highway 19 and Trunk Highway 21, serving less of a regional or interregional mobility function and thereby, being suited to be on the City roadway system. The County Board of Commissioners has the authority under Minnesota Statute §163.11 to turn back County roads to Cities.
Scott County transferred jurisdiction of CR 37 back to the City of New Prague in May 2019. The City will lead a pavement and storm sewer rehabilitation project in 2019. The City will also be installing a mini-roundabout at CH 15 and CH 37 intersection.
